How to Protect
Your Uncircumcised Son

This is one of the most complete, informative, and concise discussions about uncircumcision that I have read in 25 years in the men's movement.

The author, a pediatrician, states: "In all my years of practice, I've never had a patient who had to be circumcised for medical reasons. When a doctor advises that your son be circumcised, it's usually because he or she is unfamiliar with the intact penis, misinformed about the true indications for surgical amputation of the foreskin, unaware of the function of the foreskin, and uncomfortable with the movement away from routine circumcision. Probably, the only problem you will encounter with the foreskin of your intact boy is that someone will think that he has a problem."

If you have an uncircumcised son and a doctor ever recommends circumcision, just say no. If they mention phimosis, ballooning, UTI, paraphimosis or BXO, circumcision is only the answer to an uninformed doctor. Each one can be dealt with simply and without surgical amputation. So, if you have an uncircumcised son or ever plan to have a son, buy this issue. It goes on for 7 pages of information and resources at your newsstands until December 31, 2000. www.mothering.com
