Birthdate: 11/05/1992
Current Home: Oxfordshire
Who started you: My father
Biggest influence: My father, Jason Plato, Sabine Schmitz
Women you admire: Sabine Schmitz, Vicky Butler-Henderson
Fathers Thoughts: He thought it was fantastic and wants me to have the opportunity to do it again.
Your encouragement: Get behind the wheel and show them what you've got!
Always ecstatic about cars and motorsport, I was able to drive from the age of 10 and finally got behind the wheel of a race car ages 12. A red and black original Mini Cooper and 516 was my number. I raced on short circuit ovals round the country for nearly 5 years and achieved 2nd place in the Rockingham Motorfest Championship in 2007. I had two tuition sessions at Silverstone, instructed by a fellow female racing driver, Claire Tippet. I was then eager to upgrade into a more sophisticated class. Unfortunately more a couple of reasons, I was unable to continue motorsport -and miss it terribly! I am now a Motoring/Motorsport journalist at University and am always at race events such as the BTCC reporting etc and getting involved with many other opportunities - I am so pleased with my career path - the only thing I hope for now is another chance to race again!

News

I haven't raced in three years, so unfortunately there isn't much going on at the moment.

I raced on short circuit ovals around the country from the age of 12 for nearly 5 years and during that time I was awarded with Best Female Driver of the Year and an ambassador to my home track. I achieved over 50 trophies and lead the championship for a few weeks in my second year of racing. I also got 2nd in the Rockingham Motorfest Autograss Championship in 2007. I went on to have two tuition sessions at Silverstone instructed by a fellow female racing driver Claire Tippet in which she told me and my family I had a natural talent and a gift.

Schedule

I am a motoring/motorsport journalist and will be covering the Donington Park BTCC Round on April 17th as a freelancer for Autosport Magazine. I will also be attending an Arrive & Drive day at Prodrive on provate grounds including their tarmac rally track, skid pan and high speed driving course. In May I will also be flying out to Italy to watch the Millie Miglia Classic Rally, in which I will be reporting on it.
