Kelly and Sarah Top Cats at Silverstone (3/26/05)
Kelly Ann Mercer sharing with Sarah Bennet Baggs were the cats whisker at Silverstone on Saturday. Driving the Top Cat entered MGZR1 they won class D of the Britcar S1 production race, finishing 7th in the overall placings. This was a great debut outing for the girls which they hope to continue during the year. At the podium celebration in the pit lane at the end of the two hour endurance race, Kelly Ann put their success down to team work. Kelly was full of praise for her new racing partner and the team who prepared the car for them both. Sarah who previously raced in the Formula Woman

Sarah Bennett-Baggs and Kelly Mercer formed an all-girl team in the 2005 Britcar endurance series. The Maidenhead-based pair drive a 190bhp MG ZR for Mickel Racing in the 10-race contest. Bennett-Baggs competed in Formula Woman in 2004 whilst Mercer has been a regular front-runner in the MG Midget series and won the British Automobile Racing Club's Densley Trophy in 2004.

Sarah is 31 years old from Maidenhead in Berkshire. She is a Race Team Manager for Rupert Lewin Racing having previously worked in advertising and marketing. When not enjoying her driving or taking part in track days, Sarah enjoys rowing and painting. Sarah believes that “this opportunity could fulfil a life-time ambition to get out there on the grid and show this male dominated industry just what the girls have to offer!”
