Crosby to attempt full Busch schedule with GIC (December 21, 2004)

GIC/PSE-93 announced the signing of Kim Crosby to drive the No. 93 race car for a full-schedule of 35 races in the 2005 NASCAR Busch Series.

Crosby, Kim , sales@crosbymotorsports.com Crocker is a 24-year-old from Wilbraham, Massachusetts with an engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Like Patrick, Crocker has come through the amateur levels of racing with great success, and her resume includes becoming the first woman to win a race on the tough “World of Outlaws” circuit -- a demanding traveling tour of fire-breathing, lightning-fast sprint cars racing on dirt tracks from coast to coast.
On that circuit Crocker acquitted herself very well against veterans of the tour, earning the respect of drivers like Steve Kinser and Danny Lasoski, who are well known to American racing fans.

One NASCAR team owner feels that the talent shown by Crocker merits a further opportunity. For 2005 Crocker was signed to a contract by top NASCAR team owner Ray Evernham, who has put into place a program to get Crocker experience in superspeedway racing.

Evernham will field entries for Crocker in several NASCAR Busch Series and ARCA Series races, the first of which was in Nashville on March 28. Crocker won the pole position for that race and led some laps, even making a bold three-wide move for the lead.

While a spin relegated Crocker to a 12th-place finish, Evernham was full of praise for her effort.

Will Crocker be the first woman driver to take the checkered flag in a Nextel Cup race?

Only time will tell, but if she does remember those long odds that she will have beaten, and like Danica Patrick, realize how deserving she will be of all the attention given to her. (of the the NASCAR Busch series)
