Gender-Specific Medicine (1st World Congress on) A new view of the biology of sex/gender differences and aging. Congress Aims: This is the first international congress in the new discipline of gender-specific medicine, which is the science of how biological sex/gender impacts normal function and the experience of disease. The aim of the congress is to invite an international group of experts in this field to provide the audience with an overview of the latest information in all the subspecialties of medicine.

The Congress has the following objectives:
1. to survey the latest information about gender-specific medicine in all the subspecialties of medicine
2. to show the relevance of current gender-specific science to patient care
3. to foster communication and collaboration between the members of the faculty and audience, drawn from all of the world
4. to provide a critical mass of abstracts/information culled from the proceedings of the Congress for publication in the indexed journal, GENDER MEDICINE, so that this information is available online and in print worldwide
5. to announce the formation of the Association for Gender-Specific Medicine
6. to create the foundation of a body of knowledge for the future construction of a system of optimal practice of gender-specific medicine in all the subspecialties of medicine
