Bi - (short for bisexual) - A person with significant attraction and desire for both sexes, both sexually and romantically. (The desire for the two sexes is not necessarily equal.)

Being bi does NOT imply confusion, wanting/having more than one partner, or participation in wild sex orgies.

Trans - A truncated version of transexual, transgender, or transvestite. It is attempted to be used as an umbrella term referring to those who are differently gendered, however, there are differently gendered people who would not use the term for themselves.

Questioning - And sometimes represents those not wanting a specific designation and prefer the usage of Queer.

Intersex - A congenital anomaly of the reproductive and sexual system. Intersex people are born with external genitalia, internal reproductive organs, and/or endocrine system that are different from most other people. There is no single "intersex body;" it encompasses a wide variety of conditions that do not have anything in common except that they are deemed "abnormal" by society. What makes intersex people similar is their experiences of medicalization, not biology. Intersex is not an identity. While some intersex people do reclaim it as part of their identity, it is not a freely chosen category of gender--it can only be reclaimed. Most intersex people identify as men or women, just like everybody else.

The Intersex Society of North America (ISNA) is devoted to systemic change to end shame, secrecy, and unwanted genital surgeries performed on people born with an anatomy that someone decided is not standard for male or female. We urge physicians to use a model of care that is patient-centered, rather than concealment-centered.

Also, in InterSex people, that alone would be an interest paper which involves probably over a 1,000 parents every year to make a decision for reassignment surgery near the childs birth which, according the a large group of Intersex adults is felt to be very damaging to the long-term mental health of the child.

Ally - a straight person who supports LGBTQI rights, also known as a radical het.
