New Castle Endurance Race

Menstuff® has compiled the following information on the 200 mile endurance go-kart race at New Castle Motorsports in Indiana. This was a free event for spectators (pit passes extra) and carries a $20,000+ purse.

The Conlin sisters and teammate Lynsey Tilton were the top women finishers taking 16th out of 56, one spot behind Tomas Scheckter (15th) and ahead of Heather Bloyd (26th), Sarah Fisher (31st), Katherine Legge (31st), Dan Weldom (34th), and Scott Dixon (35th). Veronica McCann and Jeff Simons failed to qualify.

Big names to race in the RoboPong 200 mile go-kart endurance race - 10/15/06


IndyCar driver Sarah Fisher will be teaming with ChampCar driver Katherine Legge for qualification in a 200 mile endurance go-art race on October 15th at New Castle Motorsports in Indiana. They will be joined by an all woman team of Dana and Tracy Conlin, and Lynsey Tilton. In addition, Veronia McCann will be teamed with Mike Melott and Alan Barnes and Heather Bloyd will be teamed up with former IndyCar driver Robby McGehee. Other notables trying out will be Scott Dixon, Thomas Scheckter, Jeff Simmons, and Dan Weldon.  This year's race will be TaG only event. The fastest 50 teams in qualifying will automatically make the race. They will add 6 more teams to the race through a last chance race that will have a race distance of 20 laps.

Qualifying will be 5 karts at a time on track and each kart will get 3 timed laps. If you have a mechanical problem during your qualifying attempt and fail to post a time you will have to run the last chance race to make the RoboPong.com 200.

Practice - 8am to 9:15am
Qualifying - 9:30am to 10:30am
Last Chance Race - 10:50am
RoboPong.com 200 - 12:00pm

The 2006 200 Mile Endurance Race at New Castle Motorsports Park will be recorded and televised on SpeedTV. The Endurance race will be condensed into a 30 minute show and will be formally known as the RoboPong.com 200. A great deal of appreciation goes out to Robo-Pong for their faith in the sport of karting and the belief that this is and will be the one karting event each year to promote our sport of karting to the public.
